Abel Prize award ceremony - NB: Change of venue

Time: 16:00 - 16.40 local time, May 24, 2022.

Place: The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, Drammensveien 78

The event is both in person and virtual.

Due to risk of strike in the public sector, the Abel Prize ceremony 2022 in honour of laureate Dennis Sullivan has had be moved from the University Aula and downscaled.

The ceremony will take place at the premises of The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters at Drammensveien 78. The Academy only has room for a small share of the registered participants. We have therefore had to prioritize the prize winner and his guests, previous winners, The Abel Committee and others who hold a specific role in The Abel Prize. The prioritized guests will be informed directly by e-mail and SMS. All others are invited to view the ceremony live at The Abel Prize website:

The Abel Prize will be presented by His Majesty King Harald V to Dennis Sullivan.

Haddy N'jie leads the ceremony from the University Aula

Featuring artists:

Haddy Njie, Master of ceremony and singer.
String Quartet Saphir, with Philippe Jayer, Torje Råbu and Amanda Noor Vatn on violin and viola,
and Iris Kalliovirta on cello. The performers are students at Barratt Due's Young Talents.
Håkon Kornstad,  jazz saxophonist.
